Our History

Canon Nanotechnologies Inc. (CNT) was originally founded as Molecular Imprints, Inc. (MII) in Austin, Texas in 2001, a spin out from the University of Texas. In April 2014, Canon Inc. completed the acquisition of MII semiconductor business. The business was renamed CNT.  Canon Inc., together with CNT,  became the market and technology leader for high-resolution, low cost-of-ownership Nanoimprint Lithography systems and solutions for the semiconductor industry. CNT has been granted well over 1200 patents covering imprint materials, masks/templates, process technology and imprint-specific device designs.
